Some must know facts about contact lenses

The idea of contact lenses was first described by Leonardo Da Vinci way back in 1508. The first contact lens was produced by William Fein bloom in 1936. In today’s market, we have numerous contact lenses types to choose from.  Like; disposable, extended wear, flexible wear, and gas permeable lenses.  Here’s some information on the different types of contactlenzen (contact lenses):
Soft contact lenses:
Disposable lenses:
Two types of disposable lenses are available in the market. Daily disposable lenses and monthly disposable lenses. Daily disposable lenses are those which don’t need cleaning and disinfecting everyday. They can be worn only once and then thrown away the next day. For this, clear vision and comfort is ensured for the wearer.  Monthly disposable lenses, on the other hand, are those which have to be worn during the day and cleaned in the evening. After a month, they need to be disposed of and replaced with a fresh pair.

Annual soft lenses are another variety of soft contactlenzen, which are made to be worn for a year, with of course regular cleaning and disinfecting.

Gas permeable contact lenses:
These are the kind of contactlenzen which allow more oxygen into the eyes and provide clearer vision. These can last for a year but are more difficult to adapt than the soft lenses.

Extended or Flexible wear contactlenzen:
these lenses are made for continuous wear.  One can wear these lenses for up to 30 days without removal.  Even when he/she is asleep. They also provide clear and accurate vision. But, before wearing this kind of contactlenzen, one has to consult an eye specialist.

Cosmetic lenses or coloured contact lenses:
These kinds of lenses require the same cleaning procedure.  Dual coloured contactlenzen, have a double layer of the colour pigment, which makes the eyes look bigger and more attractive.  Single coloured lenses, however, enhances the beauty of the eyes by giving a hint of bright colour.

Clear vision can be achieved by choosing the correct lens. Here are some facts which you need to know before choosing your contactlenzen. When light gets into the eyes, the retinal nerves absorbs it and converts it into electrical signals which are then sent to the brain in order to interpret a visual image.
contact lenses are very thin optical discs, delicately crafted to ensure clear vision by comfortably holding in place by a natural layer of tears that exist between the lens and the cornea.
Before inserting the contactlenzen, your hands must be washed and dried. You should never use fingernails to hold your lens.  And last but not the least; you must consult an eye care professional before opting for contact lenses.
